Is there support for the disabled? The majority of our facilities are disabled friendly, the full range of our services and our commitment to the disabled can be found in our Disability Statement available from College reception. Do I have to take examinations at the end of my course? The type and level of course you undertake will determine whether end of course examinations are sat. Details of assessment requirements can be obtained from the college prospectus or course co-ordinators. Are there car parking facilities? The College has adequate car parking facilities which are available FREE to students. Can I claim any money when I am in College? This is dependant on your personal circumstances. EMA (Educational Maintenance Allowance) may be claimed by school leavers and the amount is calculated against parental income. There are other funds available to help students, Assembly Learning Grants (ALGs), Learning Support Fund (LSF). Advice can be obtained from Student Services at the College. What is the cost of the courses? The cost of courses vary depending on the attendance pattern, level of course etc. Full-time courses are generally free, part-time fees and H.E fees are in the prospectus and overseas students should contact the college in the first instance to discuss their needs. Is living accommodation available? The College does not have Halls of Residence; however there is an Accommodation Officer who has details of a range of accommodation suitable for students within the vicinity, all accommodation is vetted by the Local Authority as to suitability for use. Does the College have a Careers section? The College works closely with Careers Wales and also has its own team of careers advisers. Students may drop in to the Student Services unit to seek careers advice or make an appointment to suit their needs. Do I need equipment for my course? Certain courses require personal equipment for example Catering/Hairdressing, details of the requirements are available on request or when offered a place on the course. Does the College provide transport? The College works closely with ‘First’ bus company who allocate buses to the college on the most popular routes very oftern.
